Burglars apparently scared off after hearing owner scream through a security system in Jefferson Park
This comes as the NW side has been hammered with commercial burglaries
A surveillance system apparently scared off would-be burglars after they threw bricks through a storefront door and window near Central and Milwaukee avenues in Jefferson Park, as they presumably heard the owner scream through a speaker attached to the building at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The owner reported that he was notified through the building’s security system that people were outside of the storefront and that as he started to look at the feed from the cameras he saw them start throwing the bricks.
For unknown reason the vandals quickly fled in a nearby waiting car in the 5500 block of West Farragut Avenue, without ever stepping inside the storefront, which is for lease and formerly was home to a Mexican restaurant, said the owner, who asked that his name not be used for this story. However, he later realized that the men probably heard his screams as he was watching the live feed.
