Man Shot Five Times During Robbery Attempt In Portage Park
A 25 year old male told police he was shot during an attempted robbery
Police responded to multiple calls of shots fired at approximately 1:38 A.M. on the 3300 block of N Keating on the city's northwest side.
When police arrived to the location, they found a 25 year old male with four gunshot wounds to the right leg and one in his buttocks. The 25 year old man told police he was approached by two unknown males who demanded property at gunpoint. The males then shot him and per a witness, fled running northbound on Keating wearing all black. Another witness told police the shooters fled the area in a white Scion with tints.
The victim was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in fair condition. Police recovered at least five shell casings at the scene. There is no one in custody and police are investigating. If you have any information, you are encouraged to call Area Five Detectives at 312-746-6554.
