Multiple Attacks By Bat-Wielding Woman Reported in Ravenswood Manor
There have been 6 reported attacks between May 7 and May 9, all are reportedly random.
There have been multiple reports of random unprovoked attacks of people in Ravenswood Manor and Irving Park since Sunday, May 7.
The first attack was reported on the 4200 block of N Richmond on Sunday May 7 around 2:59 PM. Police said was a 33 year old woman was approached by an unknown female offender who was driving a white-in-color vehicle. The offender then exited the vehicle and began to batter the victim. The offender then fled the scene. The victim declined EMS.
A second attack was reported less than an hour later on the 4000 block of W Lawrence around 3:46 PM where police said two women ages 31 and 19, were near the sidewalk when they were approached by an unknown female offender who was driving a white-in-color vehicle. The offender exited the vehicle and began to batter the victims. The offender then fled the area. Both victims declined medical attention.
The attacks continued on Tuesday May 9 by an offender with the same description as the first two attacks. The first attack on Tuesday being on the 4500 block of N Mozart around 11:27 AM where police said a woman driving a white sedan on Mozart exited the sedan, approached two female victims, and began to strike them with a baseball bat. The offender then exited her vehicle and fled the area. Both victims refused medical attention.
The forth attack in this spree and the second reported on May 9 happened 10 minutes after the first one around 11:37 AM on the 4100 block of N Campbell. Police said a 45 year old woman was with her young daughter when she was approached by a white-in-color vehicle and an unknown female offender approached the victim and began to chase the victim while holding the bat. The offender caught up to the victim and began to strike the victim with the bat. The child was not struck or injured. The woman then fled the area. The victim declined medical attention.
The fifth and sixth incidents and third and forth on May 9th were reported on the 3000 block of W. Belle Plaine and 3000 block of W Cullom respectively, both around 12:00 PM. The same alleged offender from the first four incidents, a woman in a white sedan, exited a car with a bat and approached two women on the 3000 block of W. Belle Plaine and began to attack them. She then fled the area in the white sedan. Moments later, on the 3000 block of W Cullom, a woman who was reportedly walking her dog, was approached by a woman who got out of a white sedan with a bat and began to batter her with the bat. The female victim from Cullom self-transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital and was initially reported in good condition.
Though Chicago Police did not elaborate on a description, most victims described the woman as young to middle-aged woman, either Asian or Hispanic, who was driving either a white Hyundai or Nissan sedan. A video(click for video) was posted online showing one of the attacks and shows a white sedan stopped in the middle of the street as a woman is attacked by another with a bat. All attacks have reportedly been random and without motive.
UPDATE: Police say a woman is in custody and charges are pending.
To bad nobody got a clear look at the perpetrator of these 5 murder attempts. Clearly a the assailant favors a white supremist vehicle. Strap-in for a exciting summer y'all !
