Northwest Side Side Slammed By Weekend Robberies
Nearly a dozen armed robberies were reported all over the northwest side between Saturday and Sunday, including a person stabbed during a robbery.
The north west side of Chicago was slammed with armed robberies between Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The vast majority of them starting Saturday morning around 9:25 AM.
Police responded to the Family Dollar on the 3300 block of N Milwaukee. A man reported being robbed at gunpoint by two Black males nearby at the corner of Milwaukee and Karlov and ran to the Family Dollar for help. The victim said they got out of a black Audi with dark tints and said he was hit over the head with a gun that one of the males pulled out of his pocket. Both males were described as wearing all black.
One the sun set on Saturday, police responded to the 3100 block of W Lawrence at Jerusalem Liquors around 8:45 PM where the liquor store reported being robbed at gunpoint by two males. Another victim who was inside the store also reported being robbed of her purse. The males fled and threw the woman's in the alley of the 4700 block of N Troy. The males were described as two Black males wearing all black.
A few minutes later, around 9:10 PM, police responded to another robbery on the 4800 block of W Foster at Eden's Liquors for a report of another robbery. The liquor store reported two male Blacks in all black fled with the register. Police located proceeds in a gangway on the 5100 block of N Lacrosse.
About 15 minutes later, around 9:25 PM, a good citizen called police to report 2 males in masks entering the liquor store with guns and were in the process of robbing the Ezi Mart liquor store on the 4800 block of N Central. At least one male was armed and fled northbound after the incident. The offenders fled with at least $1,400 in cash and lottery tickets.
Again, at about 10 PM, on the 4700 block of W Belmont, at Bel Park Food & Liquor, 2 male Blacks armed with handguns and wearing yellow gloves robbed the store at gunpoint. An ambulance was requested for a male who was reportedly pistol whipped and was bleeding from the head.
Minutes later, at approximately 10:45 PM, Albany Liquors and Food reported being robbed. According to police, two Black males wearing all dark clothing and ski masks with handguns came into the store and demanded property. One of the offenders struck the male victim with the handgun on top of the head. Both offenders took money from the registers and fled the scene.
Then, early Sunday morning, multiple people reported being robbed at gunpoint within blocks of each other.
First, on the 5100 block of W Eddy around 7 AM, a man reported being robbed by a Black male, about 6 feet tall weighing 160 pounds, wearing a black hoodie and black pants who was armed with a with a black handgun. The second male was described as a Black male, about 5'5", 140 pounds, who had on a blue hoodie on and black pants. They took the victim’s wallet with $100 in it and an iPhone. They fled in a black Infiniti.
Shortly thereafter, a woman reported being robbed by 2 Black males on the 5400 block of W Henderson who brandished a gun and took took her bag, that had her cell phone, her bank card and her house keys. An additional armed robbery was reported on the 4900 block of W Newport around the same time with a similar description but not many details were provided.
The 25th district located the black Infiniti involved in the second wave of robberies near the Milwaukee and Belmont area but the car fled and was spotted near Montrose and Cicero but police did not pursue. The Infiniti was said to have a plate of EB29818 and was reported stolen.
Finally, around 2:10 PM, a man was robbed and reportedly stabbed on the 3600 block of W Belmont. The victim reported being robbed at knifepoint by 2 Black male offenders. Both males were described as Black, approximately 17-18 years old, the first wearing a green hoodie, black ski mask, black pants, 5'10", with a black and gray bookbag and armed with a pocket knife. The second described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie, black mask, black pants. They took $10 from the victim, and fled northbound in the west alley of Belmont and Lawndale.
As of this writing, no one is said to be in custody related to any of the incidents and investigations are ongoing.
