On-Duty Fireman Arrested, Charged With Battering Fellow On-Duty Fireman In Dunning
51-year-old David Stieglitz was charged with one count of misdemeanor battery
An on-duty Chicago Fire Department fireman was arrested after a physical altercation at the Dunning firehouse on the 3900 block of N Harlem on Tuesday May 30, 2023.
Police responded to a disturbance call at the Chicago Fire Department firehouse where an unidentified Chicago Fire Department member told police he had been physically battered by veteran fireman David Stieglitz. Stieglitz was arrested for the May 30th incident on June 2nd, the same day as Chicago Police officer, Antrinius Andrews was arrested on drug charges. Charges were filed against Stieglitz for one count of misdemeanor battery.
Details regarding the battery were not immediately available however sources say the physical altercation was minor and there were no reported injuries. Stieglitz joined the Chicago Fire Department as a firefighter in 2005.
Chicago Police officer Andrews appeared in bond court and was given a $10,000 i-bond by a Cook County judge, while Chicago fireman Stieglitz was given a $1,500 i-bond at the 16th district police station as he was only charged with a misdemeanor.

Well at least he will not lose his job. The job is tough, emotions often run high. This kind of stuff happens on every single fire department and anyone who’s says otherwise is clueless or a liar.
