One Shot, Multiple People In Custody in Ravenswood Manor
A male was shot, multiple were arrested in early morning shooting
Police responded to multiple calls (over ten calls) of shots fired in the Ravenswood Manor area around 6:15 A.M. Sunday morning. Calls ranged from Irving Park and California to Montrose and Whipple and over the river near Rockwell and Wilson.
Police searched the area and found a shot-up gray BMW on the 2900 block of W Wilson. Simultaneously, police received a call from the same block that a man was knocking on someone's door and then shots were heard. Police also then received calls that there was two males and a female in a backyard, a male was changing his shirt and they all did not live at the address they were at.
Police quickly responded and found a man who was shot and 2 others in the yard with the man. The man, who is 24 years old, was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in fair condition with two gunshot wounds to his lower back and all three people were placed into custody as well. Per police scanner traffic, all three were placed into custody as multiple people wanted to press charges for criminal trespass to property. A 22 year old woman and a 20 year old man were arrested and any charges are still pending.
Police were able to determine that the vehicle left at the scene was a 2020 BMW 7 Series with plates belonging to another vehicle and the BMW found at the scene was in fact reported stolen. Multiple shell casings of different calibers, including rifle shell casings, were recovered in and around the stolen BMW.
As of this writing, police had requested K9 to respond to the shooting scene but had it was unknown if any weapon was recovered. Police had an expansive crime scene that began at the river and went through the 2900 block of W Wilson. Charges, if any, for those in custody are pending.
